Preamble

The Caribbean Democratic Caucus of Florida (CDCF) is united in a common purpose to increase advocacy and civil engagement by Americans of Caribbean descent. We are dedicated to the principles of fairness and believe in a political party that promotes equality, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all people, and we choose to participate in the Democratic Party.

Why the Democratic Party: The Democratic Party serves as the medium through which Caribbean-American Democratic communities choose to represent the best interests of the common people. CDCF proudly joins hands with the Florida Democratic Party and collaborates with the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida, Haitian American Democratic Caucus, and the Hispanic Democratic Caucus. We welcome every registered Caribbean democrat as General members. To become an active voting member, one must pay the fee established annually by February every year.

Our Historical Roots: As far back as Alexander Hamilton, one of this nation’s founding fathers and a son of the Caribbean, worked on the Federalist papers and served as the first Secretary of Treasury, people of Caribbean descent have made significant contributions to this great nation. By gaining trust and embracing the vision of today’s diverse Caribbean-American Democratic communities, the Democratic Party will only continue to become stronger.

Primary Focus

Establish Local Branches Across the State: Our goal is to establish active branches from Key West to Pensacola and, at a minimum, one branch in each county.
Membership Drives and Community Engagement: Engage with the community to increase membership, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
Lobbying and Education: Advocate for policies that align with our principles and educate both our members and the wider community on key issues.
Legislative Issues Forum: Create a platform for informed discussions on legislative matters affecting our community and beyond.
Citizenship Drive: Facilitate initiatives to help individuals of Caribbean descent navigate the citizenship process.
Voter Registration: Empower our community by promoting voter registration and civic participation.
GOTV Workshops: Conduct workshops to Get Out The Vote and ensure every voice is heard in the democratic process.
Candidate Forums: Provide a platform for candidates to connect with the Caribbean-American community, fostering informed decision-making.
County/Regional Branch: Establish branches at the county and regional levels, ensuring representation and engagement at all levels of government.
